“You’ve got to get up every morning
With a smile on your face
And show the world
All the love in your heart

Then people gonna treat you better
You’re gonna find, yes you will
That you’re beautiful as you feel”
Lyrics by Carole King, Tapestry

Some mornings I wake up feeling really ugly, I’ve lost my center and my peace.  I have quotes on my wall, “Peace amidst chaos”, “Because of your smile…more beautiful”, and photos galore.  Normally they make my heart expand, but there are some days that are tougher.  The worst part is there is nothing in particular that you can put your finger on that was the trigger.  Then the crazy stories start playing in my head.  STOP.  The only way I know to shake it is to turn off my brain, stop the stories dead, and relax into something mindless.  This morning I created a collage, a gift for my daughter.  I put some of my house back together.  And I’m going to listen to this song, sip some hot red rooibus tea and write for a bit, before I have to get back to reality.  Carole King knew what she was talking about!

You are so right, Mel…We’ve got to get up every morning and show the world…that we care. Then we can relax and get to work. You are so creative to move through your angst with art and writing.
